Go to the park

Poster Design, 2020

Go to the park celebrates the enchanting allure of parks within the urban landscape and endeavors to improve the city's communication with its people through "bookmark posters." By capturing the essence of these green retreats and fusing it with creative graphic expression, I aspire to leave an indelible mark on the canvas of urban artistry, inspiring a harmonious relationship between people, the city, and nature.

In the bustling metropolis, cities unfold like intricate tapestries, each part weaving a unique narrative that offers diverse experiences and services to its inhabitants. Among these urban components, parks stand out as poetic oases, breathing life and tranquility into the urban fabric. Through my artistic journey, I embarked on a quest to unravel the essence of parks as profound communicators and to discover elements for my visual expression.

Immersing myself in the heart of these green sanctuaries, I undertook a meticulous study, visiting parks at various times and on different days. Armed with a camera, a video recorder, and brushes, I documented the scenes that unfolded before me, capturing the vibrant essence of life within these natural havens. Additionally, I sought to preserve the emotions and conversations that transpired within the park by putting pen to paper, allowing these words to serve as testaments to the park's influence on human experiences.

As I delved deeper into the urban landscape, I noticed the presence of countless posters scattered throughout the city of London. These posters served as yet another mode of communication, attempting to convey information and messages to passersby. However, I observed that all too often, these posters were disregarded, becoming mere backdrops to the hustle and bustle of daily life. This observation motivated me to bridge the gap between the city's communication efforts and its people.

Introducing the concept of "bookmark posters," I aimed to revolutionize the way information was absorbed and retained by the public. By designing posters that could be detached and used as bookmarks, I ensured that people interacted with the information, forming a tangible connection with the message presented. Witnessing the disappearance of these bookmarks from the public boards became my measure of success, a tangible acknowledgment that the city's communication efforts were effective.

Moreover, the adoption of "bookmark posters" not only enhanced the retention of information but also played a role in reducing paper waste. As each bookmark was claimed, a new poster would replace it, breathing new life into the message and contributing to a sustainable and eco-friendly communication strategy.

This project stands as a pivotal milestone in my artistic journey. Having received a formal education in graphic design during my undergraduate years, I initially embraced traditional graphic methods to communicate with my audience. However, through this exploration, I have unlocked new possibilities by experimenting with diverse materials and modes of expression. As I move forward, I aspire to combine my graphic skills with innovative mediums, forging my unique artistic language that resonates with audiences at a profound level.
